Rip Strip Protector Installation

  1. Install the rubber rope clamp onto the rope. First, push the rope into the gap between the clamp fingers, then twist to pop on two of the three fingers. Finally flex the third finger around the rope to secure the clamp. Slide the clamp up or down to set the protector height.

  2. Wrap the Protector Tube around the Rope. Undo one side of the velcro rip strip (the side that is not connected with the lower webbing clipping point. Then, re-fasten the velcro to create a fabric tube around the rope - align the rip strip to fully cover the velcro and its stitching. Firmly press the velcro together for good adhesion.

  3. Clip the Racking Carabiner to the Rope. This racking carabiner plays a key part in one hand removal - be sure it is clipped to the rope below the fabric tube.

Rip Strip Protector Removal

  1. Grab the Gripper Tab and Pull Down. The rip strip will open up the fabric tube, falling away from the rope. You can rip and immediately fully let go, allowing the protector to hang by the racking carabiner. (You can also remove just the rope clamp with the motion, allowing the tube protector to be pushed upwards by your TRS devices)

  2. Unclip the Racking Carabiner from the rope. In the same hand postion as unclipping the protector from the rope, you can immediately clip the protector to your harness gear loop for storage.
  3. Keep on Climbing! Moments later, you are continuing upwards, never having to rest on the rope.
