Works brilliantly I've used it to keep gear, phone and keys in when lead Soloing and its a handy bit of kit for long routes and days on the rock. Will use for snacks on the long days
Always took my phone on climbs to snap photos at the top, how could you not? Dont need worry about dropping my phone, having the snack pouch with the phone thether is a necessity for any climb.
Love the snack for long multipitches. Holds my Diabetic sensor and medication and my protein bars for the climb. Not to mention my wallet and phone or whatever i dont want to leave on the ground and not loose from my pockets. All you need is some water bottle cliped to your harness and your set for the day :)
Excellent product! Just what we needed!!! Small “easy-day” bushwhacking pack! Snaks, bleed-stop/1st aid kit, inreach mini2, space blanket, etc. And, BONUS, our phones in their own pockets, protected and on a tether!!! THANK YOU, MnMz Reno, Nevada ps: you could make the tether cord a bit longer… but that’s just me being picky ;-)
Never have to wear a pack again! I came from the ultra endurance mtb world and always refused to wear a pack. I was always confused seeing climbers wearing packs on multi pitch routes. No pack is so much better for everything but stuffing snacks/phone in your pocket sucked. This is the perfect amount of room for some extra snacks, your phone, and some other stuff. And it is hardly noticeable and easy to bring around to the front of body at a belay for some snacking and phone check.

This snack pack is absolute clutch! 🧗♀️🎒 Ultralight yet tough—feels like it could survive a granite chimney (haven’t tested this theory). The bright red color? Chef’s kiss 💋 and easy to spot in any gear pile. It cinches down when you’re packing light, but the expandable top comes in handy when you need to stuff in a few extra snacks, tape, half-eaten burrito (or that windbreaker you swore you wouldn’t need). The buckle feels bomber—no surprise unclips here—and the phone zipper is silky smooth for fast grabs mid-send to check beta videos or lie to your worried mom when she calls. Snack pack and phone tether in action on the Thank God Ledge of Half Dome! Came in handy when my partner discovered while racking up that he had forgotten his chalk bag...I gave him my chalk bag and kept the snack pack for myself, putting chalk in the main pocket and my phone+snacks in the zippered pocket.

This snack bag and phone tether is awesome. However, the phone tether has nearly ripped off (regular use only), which is concerning since my hope was that this would provide protection against dropping my phone. The waist strap also fully unsewed from the buckle! This product would benefit from more durable materials and climbing-grade sewing.
Happy climber I can bring up my candies and take lots of photos at top of routes and multipitches no fear in dropping phone.I need a longer tether for the phone though for my short arms .

I didn’t want to carry a backpack during multi-pitch climbs, but I also struggled to find a good way to carry essentials like my phone or a small snack. This product completely solved that problem. The pouch makes excellent use of space and doesn’t get in the way at all, even when packed with a few energy bars and a windbreaker—there’s still plenty of room.
Perfect "pack" for multipitch routes! We use it for the phone, knife, headlamps and snacks and there's still room for more like a packable windshirt. The phone tether is amazing took so many more photos than I normally do on recent dessert tower trip!
I hate climbing with a pack on, so owning one of these is a no-brainer. I used to climb with the mammut alpine chalk bag, but after it gets sweat-stiffened it's a real pain in the neck. This thing is better in a dozen ways! One piece of feedback: I personally don't love the metal slot buckle closure system that this pouch comes (just find it tedious) with and feel nervous having my phone attached to my person by a standard plastic buckle, so I snagged the "double lock" buckle and strap from my mammut alpine chalk bag and use that for this pouch + a different chalk bag. It would be awesome if this came with a double-lock buckle by default. Thank you for developing awesome products Brent!
I brought this with me to Squamish and loved using it on the multipitch routes I climbed there. Perfect for a light jacket, phone, knife and some snacks. I also appreciated the phone tether that was included. It fit well with my chalk bag and no issues wearing it with a backpack as well. Love this little pouch!
Having the phone at all times with me when LRS is crucial and I was using a thigh pocket for this, always feeling uneasy about it... The snack pack is simple and ergonomic; I place the tethered phone with the screen towards my butt cheeks just in case (I have the padding there, I am not worried :). A small knife is there as well
This small bag is excellent. I have used it more than I thought I would and found it to be a valuable piece of kit for route development, short multi-pitch projects, and rope soloing. Also keeping my phone close enough so I can still steam music to my headphones. Brent also sent me an updated waist buckle strap that is lower profile and unlikely to come undone. I initially tried to attach it to the same strap as my chalk bag, thinking it would reduce bulk. However, this approach didn't work and made chalking up inconvenient at times. I now use the low-profile buckle on the snack pack a bit tighter allowing my chalk bag, on its own strap, to move freely below it.

Coming back from Yosemite. Climbed the Nose (with a friend), Braille Book, and Central Pillar of Frenzy (rope solo). The snack-pack was key to organization and safety. I always had an energy bar (or five) in the big pouch along with lipstick, etc. Having my phone easily accessible and secured in case of emergency is something I always wanted, and it's now possible with the snack-pack. The only issue is the size of the buckle on the belt: it almost detached on me on the Nose. AVANT tells me they are addressing the issue in the next batch. They also want to send all buyers a new buckle to retrofit at the cost of shipping. Amazing! 4 stars with the old buckle, will be 5 stars with the new security buckle coming early July 2024!
This thing friggen' rocks. Easily holds all my essentials like a headlamp, snacks, and other small things. It isn't bulky and it easily slides around, which is great for maneuvering in chimneys and OWs, and makes accessing stuff while belaying a breeze. The integrated phone/camera tether is a lifesaver, especially if you're clumsy like me. And the build quality is superb.
Very useful and light. Using it also in trad single pitches to carry my phone. A bit pricey.

I’ve been using the snack pack for scrambling in the alpine, and it’s been perfect. I actually wasn’t sure it’d be so handy, but it really is! It’s also been great for lapping a fixed multi pitch at my local crag - I can easily carry all kinds of fun stuff without overloading my pockets. Smart design for the phone as well.
Great, but not when used together with a chalk bag. Would prefer to have a chalk bag with smartphone tether and pouch.
This pouch is perfect for keeping personal items and phone handy. Doing arborist work is a lot more fun now that I can access my phone without worrying about dropping it. It’s nice to be able to put a few pieces of extra rain gear and personal items like Chapstick, where I can sling them around behind me out of my way, but still have access to them anytime I need them. I wasn’t sure if I would like it, but this is going to be a daily use piece of gear from now on.

I owned the original snack pack and was not impressed, I mentioned my experience to Brent and he sent me the new version. After abusing it climbing limestone in EPC and wide cracks in the Platte I am ready to give a review. The new snack pack is better in many ways, making it a constant companion on all multi pitch routes. In the winter it is home to my Houdini shell, pants, buff, and gloves which are constant companions on all climbing days here in Colorado. The fabric is very durable and the stitching is more robust than the first version. More important is the change in shape, which holds the bag together when the phone pouch is opened. I still find the belt buckle to be finicky to my older fingers, one size bigger is an upgrade I would pay for. All in I love the Avant Snack pack!

The snack pack is great, but the phone lock is less so. The carabiner on the phone keeps unscrewing itself in my pocket, unfortunately. Otherwise, it's a cool product.
