Love this phone tether! You can't really see it in the picture, but that picture wouldn't exist without it! Bought a few for myself and the guys on my team for a highly exposed job where we were working over pedestrians 130' below. We needed to make sure we couldn't drop a single thing. These tethers gave us peace of mind so we could carry our phones safely, without constantly worrying they would fall.
I really like the design of this product. I've used a couple others and this is my favorite. However, while using the tether for two months in the Dolomites this summer an issue arose. About half way through, the tether next to the clip that affixes to a harness loop began shredding. It concerned me enough to tape the shredding tether. I wonder if there is a way to improve this spot on the tether.

Easy to use, lightweight and durable which makes for ease of use for single pitch, high walls or just hiking on a bushy descent. Love it and appreciate the simple design.
Screw gate, carabiner very cheap and comes undone in your pocket. Can confirm with other people to have it that happens to them too. Once Carabiner id replaced, it is a great product. I stopped using it for a while then dropped my phone 30 feet and it’s back in my bag. One of The few avant Products I’m on the fence about recommending.

I love the avant phone tether!!! I’ve now used the one from 2024 and the kind of adjusted 2025 one with the locking mini carabiner and it is great— here’s photo proof that I never worry about my phone! Also big fan of the multi pitch pack— I used to use a fanny pack on walls but I can fully stuff a sun hoodie into y’all’s pack and it’s so much more ideal
I’ll keep my Tech-Tether on my phone as a best practice going forward. And not just for climbing.

Works well. Came unclipped a few times but it's not bad to clip it back in before taking your phone out.
I’m not stressing about losing my phone when taking that epic shot.
My first use of this was a day out on the canoe in the BWCA. Was able to pull out my phone on the lakes with confidence. Come nighttime, I even clipped it to a loop inside my tent to find my phone easily. I’ll be using it in densely populated areas while traveling, aside from the wall. Very useful.

Saw this being tested on HowNot2 and thought the leash was a great idea. Took it on my most recent climbing trip and it was a great way to keep my phone safe. Kept it zipped up in a pocket and leashed to my gear loop. Taking it out while chilling at the belay, it gave me peace of mind in case it slipped out of my hand.
Excellent product and works as it should... No issue with dropping phone.
Works great. I keep it attached to my purse. It's a comfort when traveling alone, I never worry about leaving it behind. The cord is long and flexible enough that I almost never need to disconnect it for pictures, texting or even phone calls.

The small screw at one end of the tether is inadequate for the job of securing the device to the tether. It comes undone every time I use the tether. Unless I come up with a work around, it's unusable.

It's really good, I haven't had the same issue that other people have had with the charging port. The charging port on my phone isn't blocked whatsoever by the attachment. The only thing I don't like about it, is that little screw gate that you connect to the phone. Honestly, it would be better if that was just another carabiner. This is something I'll probably replace on my own soon. I don't like how the screwgate can unscrew itself randomly, and it's just kind of fiddly.
I use the tether all the time for both phone and with GoPro cameras I have mounted to shot video. Tether is longer than the thin little tethers GoPro used to offer. Highly recommend.
